A MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR OF “FAN S. NOLI” UNIVERSITY

I am honored to wish you welcome to the internet site of our university, the highest educational institution in Korca region, which is named after one of the greatest personalities of our national history and culture, Fan Noli. Through this site , we reveal to you, what Korca and our university offer to the young generation, in and out of Albania, interested to know about and study in our university.
Our university has inherited the best experience of Albanian national education, the intensive and passionate work of numerous generations of pedagogues and students, who have cultivated the academic values of teaching and research work. We manifest this history of values as a treasury of what the next generations are inheriting.
The University of Korca has got an experience of 37 years. In years, it has had many new faculties and programes, a highly qualified academic staff and more and more students, year after year. Living in a town, where the basement of national education has been thrown, we think, we are ready to make the prominent profile of a public university, welcoming students of the region and out of it, facing the challenges of the future in a very prominent and competitive way. We are very sure of it, because our staff works hard towards a higher quality and the accrediting of the university, in a very near future.

This academic year, we have made enormous steps regarding great reforming and integrating  programs of our university and have brought many changes in the infrastructure, all affecting the modernization of the teaching process and development of the research work.
Bologna Declaration is now part of our daily program and we are properly respecting the Law of High Education, this way integrating Korca’s university in the European Space of High Education.   The new elected authorities are effectively working to give this university a contemporary dimension, increasing the quality and the qualification of the academic staff. Our University is being introduced in a new performance in the national and international world.Hundreds of students are actually studying in the study program “Master of First Level” in the Faculties of Education and Agriculture. In a very near future, our efforts will be finalized in higher programs of study. I do ensure the students that they will find here, what they have wanted and dreamed: a qualitative level of study and education, a well qualified staff, contemporary educational and relaxing.....more

The Vise grad International Fund, constituted by the governments of 4 countries , participants of Visegrad group ( Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic) in the cadre of Visegrad Scholarships Program , offers scholarships for university and after- university studies for candidates of the countries mentioned above and others from Central and Southeast Europe.These scholarships are for academic year 2010- 2011. The University of Korça was created on 7 January 1992, on the basis of the High Agricultural Institute of Korça (1971-1992). It was composed of three faculties: Agriculture, Education, and Economics. In 1994 it was given the name “Fan S. Noli” and in the same year The School of Nursing, was opened.The studies in this University are organized full-time and part-time in two levels: first level and second level, based on the Bologna Declaration.
